All dogs deserve great trainers. Every Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner (KPA CTP) is a graduate of the 6 month Dog Trainer Professional program and has demonstrated excellent technical knowledge and hands-on skills in positive teaching and training. A KPA CTP is a trainer you and your pets can count on.

What is a CPDT-KA Trainer?

The Certification Council for Professioal Dog Trainers  certifies that a dog trainer has passed a comprehensive exam and has at least 300 hours of dog training experience.

What is a Fear Free Certified Trainer?

 This certification program is designed to give qualified animal trainers the knowledge and tools required to implement Fear Free techniques with their clients’ pets at the veterinary hospital, through in-clinic training classes for puppies and kittens, and in day-to-day training of animals in the home.  

Experience with Leader Dogs for the Blind

  • 22 years training and raising puppies for Leader Dog.  This involves picking up a puppy at 7 weeks and raising them until they are a year old. Learning includes house training, obedience, good manners, and socialization. 
  • Coordinate activities and teach local  rasiers how to raise and train their puppy.  In addition, provide assistance in behavior modification, behavior management, and trouble shooting training challenges.
  • Training Assistant during weekend puppy raiser training weekends held at Leader Dog

Experience with Freedom Service Dogs of America

  • 1 year training and raising puppies Freedom Service Dogs.  This involves getting a puppy at 8 weeks and raising them until they are a year old. Learning includes house training, obedience, good manners, socialization, and service dog tasks.
